A great big-small town. Home grown entrepreneurs, antiques, many restaurants, unique shopping , a beautiful canal waterway, museums, a variety of coffee shops, a wonderful walking town!
this place is probably something to see once the area under the lighted Up Canopy has turned into a place where the homeless tend to gravitate there are individuals dressed up in numerous costumes or nothing at all trying to make a buck the side that has became what is known as Container Park has turned into a very nice place to visit there is some restoration going on to the older motels that is really improving the area but if you have young kids Fremont Street Under The Canopy is probably not the best place to go the nudity is quite heavy there
The French Quarter is wonderful. Decatur Street was by far my favorite area. It's full of shops and plenty of artists, especially on the weekends, and wonderful food. Definitely do a walk around the quarter to get in all the sights of the beautiful buildings. Walk Bourbon street at least once at night.
