Fresh cool water from a stream made this chasm a favorite swimming place for the kings of Niue. Quite often you will see young local boys scouring the cliff face to the top before leaping back into the cool waters.
Matayangu Waterfall looks unique because it has two waterfalls with the color of the water appearing blue. The first waterfall comes from a river in the cave. Matayangu itself means "Temporary Stopover", the name was pinned by the residents around the waterfall.

Merewether Baths was opened in 1935 and is open all year round, subject to maintenance and cleaning.
Merewether Baths are cleaned every 2nd Monday and every Thursday during the season.
