We had lunch here two days in a row and were happy each time. The service is kind even though the place gets a bit crowded and overwhelming at some points. Try any type of seafood from the menu and you'll love it!
This place is insane, workers mainly sit outside for hours on end, yelling and screaming (outside of the 1806 commisar). Mainly lead by one man. We live nearby and get no peace because of mismanagement of this restaurant. Today from 1pm-7pm and counting (even though they close at 6pm), we hear this one man yell, laugh, scream, howl. FOR HOURS. According to LA City Ordinances, the back area of businesses that abut residential properties are only supposed to be used for parking and storage only. This business uses it as a lounge. All of the reviews complaining of bad service are no surprise, the workers seem to not do anything all day. We tried to go order food and were ignored at the window. The men who work here are like teenage boys playing games in the back. I would not trust them to handle food. Owners have been unresponsive to complaints and have no regard for the neighborhood.
Wildly overrated, riding on its history and endless supply of tourist business. I went here for the first time in a decade recently and the food has really gone downhill. The lines, lack of parking etc. don't make it worth it. Taquitos were soggy, tasted a day old and the service was bad.
