We've done the trek at winter (January), it was quite foggy in the mornings but then the sun came over. The hosts are really good people, have simple buy lovely houses and delicious fresh food. There's always at least one person at the homestay who speaks english (except for your guide) so you can get to know many things from them. Of course the views on the way are amazing too and the trek makes a pleasant trip.
just one of my favorite trails and a reason I love Olympic so much. The last few miles are a bit strenuous as you climb up toward Olympus but overall a good 2-3 day out and back hike
