A spiritual and peaceful place. We were greeted with tea and cookies, as we listened to the fasinating history of the shrines and the creation of the Lawai International Center. After the brief presentation, we were able to visit the Hall of Compassion and walk the winding path among the 88 Buddhist shrines. A truly unique experience.
I’ve been going to this park since I was a child and it’s always fascinating. You learn so much about Lyndon & Lady Bird Johnson and understand why they loved this part of Texas.
After Lady Bird’s passing in 2004, you’re now able to visit inside their home as well. A real treat.
If you’re able to go during wildflower season, do. Gorgeous.
