Wainiha Beach Park is at the end of the Wainiha River. The beach is one of the few Kauai beaches that is off limits to swimming at all times of the year.
A stunning native bush track along the Wainui River leads to Wainui Falls, the largest falls in Golden Bay. There is a 1.5 km out and back trail to the falls.
The track starts from a carpark in Wainui Bay, 20 km north-east from Takaka. Look for the direction sign on the road side approximately 300 metres after crossing over the Wainui River Bridge.
Hāna ranch owns the land where the trail leads to the pool with signs warning of trespassing. There is a route along the gulch but careful of footings and once arriving at the pond it's a scale down the rocks.
Water quality depends on rainfall. Parking is difficult without harassing the locals. There is very limited parking at a nearby bridge.
