This area is beautiful and easy to explore. We enjoyed the hiking with the rangers program on the first Saturday of the month, and then swimming. It’s out in the middle of nowhere so plan accordingly
The best time to see game is during the dry season between May and August or September and October. Birdwatchers should visit between November and March.
This is a well maintained, hidden gem of the National Park System. Hidden in the Swamps of Georgia, this secluded park has a lot to offer. It has hiking, biking, boat rental and guided tours, as well, there's a real nice camp store with very friendly staff and very knowledgeable Park Rangers doing the tours. There's Wi-Fi available if you stall close enough to the Headquarters area but we were far enough away we couldn't receive Wi-Fi or cellular service.
The bathhouse needs to be updated, but had plenty of hot water so I'm not going to elaborate because they were great! Our grade is 👍👍
