Interesting story of the Nez Perce (Niimii’puu) tribe’s belief of their creation. Recently visited for the second time in my life. It isn’t necessarily a huge scenic spot but the story makes up for it.
If possible, plan your trip so you stay the night at one of the lodges that overlooks the crater. It was such a treat to finish a great day of safari and then come back to enjoy a drink on the lodge's view deck and reminisce about all the great things we had seen that day.
Nineteen people live in Nicodemus, KS. All of them are descendants of the colony who traveled from Lexington, KY to own free land and prosper. I met two of those descendants today during a walking tour. Fascinating stories.
Very neat historic site. unfortunately they were closed due to covid but we were able to drive around and look ams then fb message them any her our stamp later.
