I am from the US and this was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience. The drive to the beach was gorgeous! Full of trees, very pretty road. Once down to the beach a very short walk to the water. The beach is very pretty and not crowded, we were there midday on a Sunday. The kangaroos are small and not afraid, you can feed them and get really close. Could have spent 2 hours in the tidepools too.
If possible, plan your trip so you stay the night at one of the lodges that overlooks the crater. It was such a treat to finish a great day of safari and then come back to enjoy a drink on the lodge's view deck and reminisce about all the great things we had seen that day.
