The 1,000 Steps name comes from the limestone stairs that must be descented to get to the beach. Don't worry, the stairs are only about 67 steps. The site exists of white sand and bleached chunks of coral, and the cove is surrounded by limestone cliffs. It's great for both diving and snorkeling as turtles are often found in the shallow, turquoise waters.
It's definitely a good amount of steps to get down to the beach, travel lightly as you will be walking up all those steps to get back to your car.
