I've travel through this area several times in the late spring and summer. It's a beautiful place to explore alone or with the family. The wildlife can be seen relatively frequent, pika, marmot, and deer. You won't regret visiting here. The visitor center is also a neat place to find information, souvenirs, and flushable toilets. Win win win!
This mini hike is very steep, the rocks at the bottom are slippery, but if you don’t have to go far out of your way to go check it out then it is totally worth it. I would DEFINITELY recommend wearing keens or some other hiking sandals that can get wet. If it has rained recently and the ground is wet, I would recommend waiting for a better day as the dirt becomes very slippery mud! Not for the faint of heart, but if you’re able bodied it is an excellent addition to any other outings that you may have planned around Princeville.
