Incredible salt mine hidden in the small town of Turda about 20km south of Cluj-Napoca; busses are available from the city. Bold contrast of rock and salt stripes throughout the mine. Great large catwalk on the way down into the heart of the mine; may be difficult for those with a fear of heights or vertigo but those with a sense of adventure will love it. A number of activities including games like pool are available to play once in the main room of the mine. One of best activities is riding the Ferris wheel where you can get a birds eye view of what the mine really has to offer. The other is unreal....you can rent a rowboat and take it out into the underground lake! The other activities can be observed from the water. Unlike anything I’ve seen anywhere else and totally found it on accident while researching other things in Romania.
