Attend Auckland Diwali Festival of Lights, New Zealand
The Auckland Diwali Festival is a 2-day that brings Aucklanders and visitors of all ages and ethnic backgrounds together to celebrate and experience Indian culture. Diwali also called the "festival of lights", is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn every year. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.
Highlights of the festival include food stalls showcasing authentic cuisine, traditional and contemporary dance and music, a Bollywood dance competition, a magical lighting installation and a grand finale fireworks display.
