Attend First Thursday on SoCo, Austin, Texas
First Thursday of the month, SoCo merchants host a block party that offers sales, drink specials and artists markets that pop up along the avenue. Note: True to Austin's laid back spirit, most merchants don't open until 11 a.m. Arrive early and be rewarded with a good parking space on the street. Pick up a copy of The Austin American Statesman, Austin's daily newspaper, and enjoy a leisurely breakfast before hitting the Avenue.
