Attend official opening ceremonies to
Oktoberfest at Schottenhamel Tent, Munich, Germany
View Original Description
Be at the Schottenhamel tent at noontime on the first day for tapping the first keg of Oktoberfest beer. Then the drinking begins. The Schottenhamel beer tent has been an Oktoberfest staple since it was just a wee beer stand 50-seats strong back in 1867. Today, the tent clocks in as the second largest beer tent at Oktoberfest with an inside capacity of 6,000 and an outside capacity of 4,000. If you reserve a table in the Schottenhamel Festzelt, you will most likely be surrounded by young Oktoberfest visitors. This beer tent, which can serve roughly 10,000 guests, is the first port of call every year for young people visiting this famous festival in Munich.
