San Diego County has a lot of birding to offer, with more than 500 species. The San Diego Bird Festival covers San Diego's diverse habitats ranging from desert to mountains, shore to coastal wetlands, urban and suburban. Field trips wil be by bicycle and kayak.
The area’s varied habitats hold many sought-after species. California Thrasher, Black-vented Shearwater, Oak Titmouse and Ferruginous Hawk.
A ten-day trip down the Baja California peninsula will be offered in 2013 immediately following the Festival. A bus trip will take guests to Cabo San Lucas where they will return to San Diego by plane.
