Southwest Wings Birding and Nature Festival, Sierra Vista, Arizona
View Original Description
Southwest Wings is held in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Some of the educational highlights of the Birding and Nature Festival will be Mexican Birds, Trogon, Butterflies, Dragonflies, Ornithology, Hummingbirds, Bats, Bugs, Snakes, and Owls.
Sierra Vista lies at the foot of the Huachuca Mountains, minutes away from popular southwest birding hotspots including the San Pedro River and the Garden, Sawmill Huachuca, Ramsey, Carr, Miller, and Ash canyons.
The festival usually offers over 30 Field Trips throughout southeast Arizona. Our overnight trips to the Chiricahuas and Madera Canyon are exceptional opportunities to spend some quality time with nationally known bird guides birding these unique areas. Our day trips offer a wide range of opportunities for birding and natural history exploration. We even have the evenings covered with owl and bat excursions to see up to five species of owls and other night flying birds such as whippoorwills and lesser nighthawks.
