Perhaps participation in any golf tournament is no more coveted than an invitation to The Masters tournament staged at the venerable Augusta Country Club in Augusta, Georgia during the first full week in April. This tournament, another of golf’s “Majors”, was started by one of the greatest amateur golfers in history, Bobby Jones in 1934, and to this day the world’s best amateur golfers are celebrated and invited to play alongside the pros. The timing of the tournament coincides with the blooming of the azaleas that surround the course adding to the already picturesque setting. Masters Week provides many opportunities to watch the golfer’s you may have only dreamed about following in person from all over the world. In addition to the 4 tournament rounds, the patrons, as the spectators are known at Augusta can take in a practice round early in the week or observe the Par 3 tournament on the Wednesday before the competition for the green jacket begins.
