Attend U.S. Open (Golf)

The United States Golf Association (USGA) stages its Open Championship (U.S. Open) each year seeking to identify the best players in the world. This competition is truly an “open” tournament in that anyone, professional golfer or amateur, is allowed to attempt to qualify for inclusion in the roster of those approaching the first tee with a chance to take home the trophy. The tournaments are staged at some of America’s finest facilities with the venues known years in advance. The U.S. Open is considered to be one of golf’s “Major” championships and the winner of the tournament reaps incredible rewards and accolades. If you’ve ever dreamed of attending this test of golf’s greatest players you can start your planning by selecting a location now. U.S. Open courses are set up by the USGA to identify the best players, not to embarrass them (or so they say!). The course superintendent under the supervision of the USGA can be counted on to prepare the track with lightning fast greens, narrow fairways, penal rough and added length, compared to what golfers normally face on the selected playing ground. When these toughened conditions are combined with the pressure of being near the top of the leader board on Sunday almost anything has been known to happen. The tournament is scheduled to end on Father’s Day each year so if you have ever dreamed of doing something special with your Dad or in his memory think about adding a trip to the U.S. Open Championship to your list.
