Attend World of WearableArt (WOW) Awards Show, Wellington, New Zealand
The World of WearableArt (WOW) Award Show is a two-hour performance spectacle held annually in Wellington, New Zealand in September. The show can be difficult to descrive, but not eazy to forget. It's a montage of theater, dance, color, movement and art - a theatrical experience.
Each year the judges select over 150 garments created by designers from all over New Zealand and around the world. to complete for close to NZ$150,000 in prize money.
The show started in Nelson, New Zealand in 1987 and is a popular show, attracting 20,000 guests a night in 2004. Due to its popularity, since 2005 the show has taken place in Wellington - and continued to grow, attracting more then 50,000 people (also broadcast on television in the United States, Canada, and France).
