Dive Blue Water Park, Pelham, Alabama
Blue Water Park is a quarry turned scuba dive and recreational facility catering to the greater Birmingham area. Now open to scuba divers, technical divers, freedivers, kayakers and paddleboarders, Blue Water Park is a full service facility with air fills, rentals, retail small repairs, snacks, restrooms and changing facilities all available on site. We offer both scuba certifications and paddleboard yoga classes throughout the summer. The quarry itself is ranges from 4 feet to 140 feet with an average depth of 100 feet. Visibility is approximately 25 feet in the summer and 50 feet to 100 feet in the winter. During the summer months, the surface temperature is approximately 86 F. The bottom temperature always ranges from 52 F to 54 F, with two or three thermoclines (depending on the time of year). Purchased by Mark DiGiorgio (owner of Scuba Ventures in Vestavia Hills) in 2015, the quarry has undergone some major improvements over the past few years and continues to have upgrades added frequently.
