Extreme sports enthusiasts looking for something completely different have pursued Bungee Jumping into the active volcano near Pucon, Chile. The jump is only accessible by way of a helicopter ride into the smoking mountain top demanding experience to go along with nerves of steel. The jump is made from the skids of an airborne helicopter directly into the smoldering caldron of the Andes’ Villarica Volcano. Once the rebounds have abated jumpers are flown the 50 kilometers back to the airport while suspended 120 meters below the helicopter at a speed of 130 kph; a thrill in and of itself. Pucon, Chile is located 100 km southeast of Temecu, Chile and 780 k south of the Chilean capital city, Santiago.
