Bungee Jump
Corinth Old Isthmus Bridge, Greece
View Original Description
The bridge over the Corinth Canal links the Peloponnese peninsula to the rest of Greece. The man made waterway, started by the Emperor Nero in 67 AD is 6 km long and cut through solid rock. The project took more than 1800 years to complete. The canal provides access from the Gulf of Corinth to the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea but cannot accommodate larger ships. Bungee Jumping is allowed from a bridge platform a formidable 79 meters above the canal and is designed to allow for a brief touch of the water at the cord’s full extent. The jump between the narrow canal walls is exhilarating.
The Corinth Canal is located 80 km from Athens, Greece, easily accessible as a day trip. Jumps are scheduled year round; daily in summertime and on weekends, the balance of the year.
Pursuing a modern, extreme sports adventure near the ancient city of Athens, Greece belongs on your list if you have dreamed of visiting this region steeped in history but require an exciting diversion from the museums and ruins. Your dream trip to Greece will be enhanced by Bungee Jumping from the bridge over the Corinth Canal.
