Allt Scheicheachan is ideal for Bothy first-timers as route to reach it is through evergreen forest and heather moorlands takes around three hours and is easygoing.
Scottish bothies are shelters dotted around the Scotland's countryside which are left unlocked used as temporary dwellings by herders, gamekeepers and adventurers for centuries. Thye are a hut or small cottage maintained by the volunteer-led Mountain Bothies Association (MBA) and usually equipped with a wood burner and raised platforms for sleeping. Even better staying in one is often entirely free.
