Camp at
Arroyo Salado Primitive Campground, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, California
View Original Description
Arroyo SaladoPrimitiveCampgroundis one of the eight undevelopedcampgroundsin Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This year-round campground offers only a handful of sites with access to a vault toilet that is close to S22. The sites not necessarily the best-marked — making camping seem virtually unlimited here provided that vegetation is not disturbed and that vehicles remain on the dirt road.
At Arroyo Salado, the only source of light pollution comes from the towns bordering the Salton Sea some 30 miles away, and it is largely impeded by the surrounding mountains.
Best season: October — May
