Camp at Black Canyon Equestrian & Group Campground, Mojave National Preserve, California
While the campgrounds at Mid Hills and Hole-in-the-Wall accommodate a maximum of 8 people and 2 vehicles, the Black Canyon Equestrian & Group Campground (located across the road from Hole-in-the-Wall Information Center) is ideal for larger groups. Camping here will help minimize unnecessary damage to natural resources.
Group campsite: Vault toilets, trash receptacles, potable water, fire ring, grill, picnic shelter with tables.
Equestrian campsite:Corrals, vault toilets, trash receptacles, potable water, fire ring, grill.
Firewood is not available in the park.

Groups of at least 7 vehicles (or 7 horses) or 15 people require a Special Use Permit for roadside vehicle camping or backcountry camping. Groups this size or larger that are registered in the Black Canyon Equestrian & Group Campground (see above), using only the campground facilities, do not need a permit.
