Grab your sunscreen and beach chair and head out to Crawdad and Boxcar coves. Reached via boat or dirt road, these coves offer clear, clean water for taking a dip. While there are no designated campsites, dry camping is permitted for 7 days at Boxcar Cove and 15 days at Crawdad Cove.
Access:
Driving off of designated roads is prohibited.
Located on Lake Mead on the Nevada side and can be reached by boat or via Boxcar Cove Road.
The road splits after about a half mile. Boxcar is to the left and Crawdad to the right
TIPS:
No drinking water - potable water and sewer are located a few miles away at Callville campground
Trash dumpsters located at entrance to Crawdad Cove
$10 Pass required to enter Lake Mead National Recreation Area
Restrooms located a mile back down the road
Crawdad Cove usually attracts more people
