Camp at Hipapatua Recreational Reserve, Taupo, New Zealand
Formerly Reid’s Farm Recreation Reserve, this is a spot for freedom camping beside the Waikato River (October to April). It's first-come, first-served but there's plenty of space. Apart from a handful of portaloos there are no facilities.
