Camp at Kalaloch Campground, Olympic National Park, Washington

Kalaloch campground within Olympic National Park in Washington state is on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean with great views. Several beach trails lead to coastal hikes and Kalaloch Creek. There is great beach hiking; cliffs, forest, and small headlands for exploring although beware at high tide due to debris. Some sites located on the cliff for lovely beach views, although its only a very short walk to the beach if at an inland site. Season: Year round. Reservations: Online reservations accepted for June 21 - September 23, 2017. First-come, first-served in off-season. Sites and Fees: 170 total sites, $22 per night, dump station is $10 per use. RVs: Sites for 21 feet, a few for 35 feet. Reservations can be made no more than 6 months in advance beginning in mid December. First come, first serve remainder of year. Campfire programs in summer. The National Park Service runs a ranger station in the area during the summer. There is also a number of log cabins accommodations in the town. The name Kalalochis a corruption of the Quinault termk'–E–le–ok, pronounced Kq–â-lā'–ȯk, meaning "a good place to land", "canoe launch and landing", or "sheltered landing". The site was one of the few safe landing sites for dugout canoes between the Quinault River and Hoh River.
