Atwell Mill Campground is located 19 miles (31 km) from Highway 198 on the Mineral King Road, which turns off in Three Rivers. It is 6 miles (10 km) from the end of the road in Mineral King Valley. The campground is along the East Fork of the Kaweah River in a once logged giant sequoia grove. It is one hour from the town of Three Rivers, one and a half hours from the main entrance to Sequoia National Park, and two and one half hours from Giant Forest Museum. This campground has 21 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservations available), and the campsite fee is $12 per night. In 2017, this campground is open from May 24 – October 26. Camping is only open to tents. One site is accessible for people in wheelchairs.
