Canyoneer Silver Grotto/Shinumo Wash, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
Shinumo Wash is located on mile 29.5 on the Colorado River in Marble Canyon of Grand Canyon National Park. It is usually accessed by river rafters coming up canyon. Silver Grotto is an outstanding section of pools and polished walls tucked amongst high walls.
To 11 mile climb down from the top requires lots of ropes for the repels and a few quite difficult downclimbs and then a swim to the top of the Silver Grotto. This is a hard climb down but way harder getting back up the canyon. Read the associated articles for me details.
