Canyoneer Trachyte Point Slot Canyons, Lake Powell, Utah
Trachyte Point is accessed via a 4WD road off UT 276 in North Lake Powell, Utah. There are severla slot canyons in the area, some of them can be fully or partially hiked but most require canyoneering skills and equuipment.
Witches Cauldron Slot Canyon is know for its deep pothole. About half the slot is accessible to hikers, before a 35 foot dryfall that leads to the technical lower section. It ends at an enclosed chamber also reachable by walking up from below. Raps to 25 m ( 83 ft. ). Wetsuit needed. Keeper pothole gear required.
Boss Hawg Slot Canyon is very beautiful but very, very narrow. Not for beginners. It requires intermediate canyoneers skills or better.
