Run a
10K Race
View Original Description
10 kilometers, or 6.2 miles, is the threshold distance that runners consider to be true “road running”. A combination of speed and endurance is required to be competitive in a 10K run but many participants take part purely for the experience and exhilaration. Novice runners with a basic level of fitness should consider training for at least 4 weeks as preparation for their first run in a 10K. 10k Runs (referred to as the” 10,000 Meter”) are regular events in championship track meets and the Olympic Games. The world record for a 10K road race is just over 26 minutes but recreational runners and those that combine walking and running typically just have a goal to finish the race the first time out and then compete against their previous personal best time in subsequent events. 10K runs are usually the shortest distance where the endorphin generated “runners high” is experienced by participants. 10K runs are easy to find with many held in must-visit sites around the world in combination with annual festivals and events. Your dreams might take you to many of these locations at just the right time. Pursuing the dream to Run in a 10K while chasing another item on your list may just be what you need to fulfill your fantasies while keeping your goal of a higher level of physical fitness intact.
