Cross Tropic of Capricorn in Namibia
On the way between Sossusvlei and Walvis Bay in Namibia, two colorful signs, one on each side of the road, mark the crossing of the Tropic of Capricorn. For all cities at 23.5 degrees south latitude, the sun travels on December 22, the beginning of summer through the zenith, this is why this line of latitude is called “Tropic of Capricorn”.
