Bras, Laguiole, France
View Original Description
Bras restaurant is/was a three Michelin-starred restaurant in Laguiole, France. Sebastien Bras's Le Suquet restaurant in southern France held Michelin's three-star rating for 18 years. He shocked the food world in September when he decided to give up his top rating, saying he no longer wanted to cook under the "huge pressure" of being judged by its inspectors. It was the first time Michelin has ever allowed a restaurant to bow out.
The restaurant was voted 30th best restaurant in the world by Restaurant (magazine) in 2011. It is also classified as "Relais & Châteaux" since 1992. It is a cuisine known as "creative" often associated with fresh herbs and flowers in the area.
