Tadich Grill is the oldest continuously running restaurant in San Francisco, having opened in 1849 as a coffee stand during California's famed Gold Rush. In the 1920s, the Tadich Grill claimed to be the first American restaurant to grill seafood over mesquite charcoal, a traditional Croat method. Tadich Grill has established a tradition as one of the Bay Area's top restaurants. Tadich Grill in financial district of San Francisco, California is one of the best places to get cioppino, a famous San Francisco dish of mussels, clams, crab, shrimp, fish, scallops and 2 large pieces of garlic bread for dipping! Another favorite is the Tadich Platter. A cold appetizer dish that gives you a taste of everything Tadich Grill has to offer! Waiters wear white jackets and black pants and the restaurant does not take reservations. On busy days, the Tadich can see between 600-800 patrons waiting in line to dine at the restaurant. On average, the restaurant serves 700 meals a day.
