Dive Gypsum Reefs (Virgin Basin), Lake Mead, Nevada
Feel like diving through an underwater wonderland of crystalline rock formations? The Gypsum Reefs dive is about an hour away from the Lake Mead Marina, and is one of divers’ favorites! Gypsum deposits in the area have dissolved into quartz-like overhangs that start at a depth of 30 feet and dip down to 100 feet. With breathtaking silhouettes, many gypsum formations will have you imagining they are more than just rocks!
