Dive Mo Ku Surin National Park, Thailand

Home to one of the most famous dive sites in the world, Richelieu Rock, Thailand’s Mo Ku Surin National Park encompasses the archipelago known as the Surin Islands (sometimes called the Similian Islands) found just 55 kilometers from the Thailand coast in the Adaman Sea. The islands are replete with pristine bays exhibiting tranquil, shallow, clear tropical waters containing coral gardens and a significant amount of sea life. Snorkeling and diving in these rich waters allows interaction with and observation of large marine life such as Whale Sharks, Manta Rays, Barracudas, Tuna, Mackerel, Leopard Sharks and exotic creatures like Moray Eels, Seahorses, Pipefish, Lionfish, the very unusual Pineapplefish and the endangered Hawksbill Turtle. One of the most popular ways to enjoy diving in Mo Ku Surin National Park is to make arrangements on a local “live-aboard” charter that typically includes a professional Divemaster, meals, park entrance fees, tanks and weights. The live aboard boats mostly depart from the towns of Taplamu, Koh Phra Thong, Khuri Buri or Khao Lak, all about 60 to 100 kilometers from the international airport on Phuket in Thailand. There are also a number of operators that offer Day Trips to Richelieu Rock and the other fine dive spots in the National Park. Your dream trip to dive or snorkel in Thailand can be fulfilled by making a trip to Dive Mo Ku Surin National Park. Add this adventure to your list and start working on the plan to make this fantasy a reality.
