Dive or Snorkel Dead Chest Island, British Virgin Islands

Dead Chest is a large rock outcropping located off the northeast of Deadman's Bay on Peter Island, British Virgin Islands. The island is now an uninhabited National Park, with several popular Scuba diving and snorkeling sites including Painted Walls, Blonde Rock and Coral Garden. Coral Gardens, a friendly site for novices and snorkelers in very calm weather. The island can be reached by dinghy from Deadman's Bay since it's under 1/2 mile from there. The island does has two narrow beaches on both the north and south sides. There are 4 mooring bouys for day use only. It was formerly used as a firing range by the Royal Virgin Islands Police, but the opening of the nearby hotel on Peter Island coincided with the decision to build a proper firing range on the island of Tortola.
