Dive
St. Maarten
View Original Description
St. Maarten is a great Caribbean dive destination with turquoise blue waters, wreck and reef sites offering fantastic dives and excellent photo opportunities. You will encounter a large variety of marine life; from tiny coral shrimps and nudibrancs to Hawksbill turtles and everything in between.
Some of the sites include:
The Annie is a 40 foot tugboat lying upright on a sandy bottom in 25 to 30 feet of water. It's an excellent night dive.
The French Reef is an excellent reef close to shore for both beginners and advanced divers. Depths range from 12 to 25 feet and all varieties of fish abound in large numbers.
The Gregory is a 100 foot barge laying upside down in 50 feet of water. You will be able to see schools of snappers, nassau groupers, scorpion fishes and a few very inquisitive eels.
Most of the dive sites are along the south side of the island.
