The Train Hopper, Lake Mead, Nevada
View Original Description
A great dive for advanced and technical divers, the train hopper was where trains used to dump loads of rock to be crushed and divided into the aggregate piles during the building of the Hoover Dam. An 8-foot high, 10-foot wide, 125-foot long concrete tunnel runs under the hopper. It is completely dark inside--a thrilling experience for advanced divers!
