Wyckoff Ledge, San Miguel Island is a sunken rock and an underwater hazard located on the south side of San Miguel Island, near protected Tyler Bight, about 800 yards offshore. It rises to within less than ten feet of the surface, depending upon the tide.
Depths: 10 to 90 feet
Skill level: Intermediate or better.
Visibility: Very good. 50-60 fee average.
It was named for Ambrose Barkley Wyckoff during his service aboard the U.S.S. Hassler in 1876 when she was surveying the coast from San Diego to Puget Sound.
