This Mission Valley-based 3.5-barrel nanobrewery was built with a sense of community in mind. Bringing together the people one great tasting beer at a time, Groundswell Brewing Company’s tasting room is an inviting atmosphere where patrons are encouraged to sit and stay for a while. With comfy couches, cushy barstools and wooden corner tables, Groundswell makes sure its small venue is a cozy, welcoming atmosphere for anyone who walks through the door. Started by brewers and culinarians, Groundswell’s beers are not about blowing out one’s taste buds. Their beers pair well with great tasting food and encourage the drinker to explore the merits of their brew’s hidden and complex flavors. Groundswell crafts well-balanced, easy-drinking beer, as well as adventurous, yet culinary-focused brews that range from 4.5% to 7% ABV. Tasting room hours are Monday through Wednesday from 1-9 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 1-10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
