Thanks to a diehard group of loyal followers and rapidly growing consumer demand, Mike Hess Brewing Company was forced to grow up from its small nanobrewery in North County into a larger production facility near “beer boulevard” in North Park in 2012. Mike Hess’ North Park production brewery and tasting room is a comparatively massive 12,500-square-foot facility right in the heart of all the craft beer action. From its 30-barrel brewhouse, Hess produces a variety of beers in distinctive styles to please the palate of any craft beer lover. From its light-bodied American wheat to its hop-heavy, high-gravity Habitus Rye IPA, Mike Hess brews never compromise in quality or on its distinct character. Guests are permitted to walk among the fermenting tanks in the brewhouse, getting a one-of-a-kind vantage point of the brewing process as it occurs. The tasting room is kid- and dog-friendly. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from noon to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from noon to midnight.
