San Diego craft beer king, Karl Strauss’ Carlsbad brewpub extension has been dishing out great tasting West Coast pub fare alongside its handcrafted brews since 1999. The brewery-restaurant’s on-site microbrewery crafts a rotating selection of the same great-tasting, award-winning beers as its parent company, ensuring guests get the same high-quality batch of brews straight from the nearest tap. Karl Strauss’ Carlsbad location offers 10 beers on tap, a full-service bar, special release tastings, growler fills, and cask nights every Thursday. Knowledgable staff is also always on hand to educate or discuss the finer details of brewing techniques or tasting with any craft beer enthusiast who walks through the door. Karl Strauss in Carlsbad is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Beer flights are available for just $4 during Happy Hour from 3-6 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Brewery tours are also available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 4 p.m.
