Drive along the Makarska Riviera, Croatia

A drive along the Makarska Riviera in Croatia is a very pretty drive if the weather is good. The long stretches of beach here are regarded by many as the most scenic of the Adriatic Coast. The Makarska Riviera is a part of the Croatian coast of the Adriatic Sea, about 60 kilometers long and only several kilometers wide, squeezed under towering mountain Biokovo. Sunny climate and long pebbly beaches make this region a popular tourist destination. The town of Makarska, roughly in the middle of the region, has the most to offer year-round, is a good base from which to tackle the ascent of the Biokovo range Makarska is less then an hour drive from Split and about 2 hours from Dubrovnik.
