Off-road to
Cottonwood East (Pot Cove), Arizona
View Original Description
This road is great as a break from the hustle and bustle of Vegas, and an excellent place to enjoy stunning views. Entirely dirt, Cottonwood Road’s eastern half is smooth and well-traveled but still requires 4WD. Once you climb up into the Black Mountains, the terrain and road get more rough and washboard-like before descending toward Lake Mohave. Look up around Mile 13 for an impressive lake view. Once past the lake, you’ll come to fork in the road. For an even better view, go left to stay on Cottonwood Road.
Access:
From Hwy 93 turn off at mile marker 45 and head west.
At mile 14.8, the road forks with Cottonwood Road to the left.
Cottonwood Cove is located 4.4 miles from this fork. Arizona Bay is 6 miles from the fork if you head right on Arizona Bay Road.
TIPS:
4WD required
Watch out for livestock
Backcountry restroom located at Pot Cove
Only roads that have signs with yellow travel arrows are open
Only a little shoreline is accessible to vehicles
