For a luxurious taste of what it was like to be the Man From Snowy River, this is the horseback riding adventure for you! Snowy River Horseback Adventures specializes in leading small groups on two- to five-day treks across the snowy river countryside. Experienced guides take you along bush trails, old stock routes, fire and brumby trails, winding through forests of majestic snowgums and mountain ash. Our adventure treks meander through the pristine and unique Snowy Mountains on the southern side of Jindabyne, with trails along crystal clear streams, climbing up to peaks which offer awesome picture postcard views of the ranges, valleys and the mighty Snowy River gorge. Canter along the open plains surrounded by impressive mountains cloaked in their blue haze and wind your way up through the bush on tracks used by brumbies. The riding country offered is second to none, mountainous with lots of variations, making each and every day in the saddle interesting and different. An average distance of approximately 30 km a day is covered. Our very scenic part of the Australian Alps houses a large variety of wildlife, such as emus, kangaroos, wombats, wallabies, echidna and deer, an abundance of bird life, as well as herds of brumbies (Australian wild horses).
