Explore Bowen Island, BC, Canada
Bowen Island is a forested island, just 25 kilometres/15.5 miles northwest of Vancouver, BC. It is known by its slogan, "Within Reach. Beyond Comparison." There are numerous nature activities, from swimming on the sandy beaches to kayaking around the bays to hiking. Outstanding hiking trails include the Gardner Trail up to breathtaking summits, and recreation around Killarney Lake. The local residents are very friendly and helpful; in fact, they value people and art over profits, and are very community-oriented.
