Explore Jomblang Cave, Indonesia
Jomblang is one of over 500 hundreds of cave complex in Gunungkidul karst that becomes well known because of its uniqueness. Jomblang Cave is a vertical cave whose depths vary with the deepest is around 80 meters with dense ancient forest below.
To enter Jomblang cave, we need to master single rope technique (SRT). Everyone who wish to do caving in this place should use special equipments based on the caving safety standard in a vertical cave and should also be accompanied by the experienced caving trainers (available from Jomblang Resort).
The best time to enjoy the beauty of Cave Grubug is 10.00 - 12.00. Because at that moment the sun is above the head so as to create a beautiful light of heaven.
The cave is about 2 hours from Yogya and the caving experience takes 2-3hrs depending on how fast you go.
In 2011, it is used as the object of a program called Amazing Race America.
